Head Coach Dave Dilanni

Dave DiIanni enters his 11th season as head coach for the University of Iowa women’s soccer program. DiIanni was tabbed as the fifth coach in program history on May 17, 2014, coming to Iowa following an 11-year head coaching stint at Grand Valley State.

In 10 seasons at Iowa, DiIanni has posted a 98-74-22 record. He has guided the program to three NCAA Tournament appearances and two Big Ten Tournament Championships. The conference tournament title in Spring 2021 was the first in program history. The Hawkeyes repeated as champions in 2023, defeating three consecutive ranked opponents for the first time in program history during the postseason run.

Following the Big Ten Tournament Title, Iowa ascended to the highest major national rankings in program history, jumping to No. 14 in the College Soccer News ranking and No. 17 according to Top Drawer Soccer. Iowa finished the regular season at 30th in the RPI, earning an NCAA Tournament fifth-seed.

The Hawkeyes earned the second NCAA Tournament win in program history with a victory over Bucknell, 2-0. The match was played before a program-record crowd of 2,639 at the Iowa Soccer Complex.

Facilities

The Iowa Soccer Complex, home of Iowa's women's soccer team, is located on the corner of Mormon Trek Boulevard and Melrose Avenue, next to the Roy G. Karro Building Athletics Hall of Fame.

The complex consists of a state of the art competition field with lights, which allows the Hawkeyes to play night games, a practice field (located next to the field hockey field), and a new locker room and team room area located inside the new Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Complex. The Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Complex also has a 60X50 yard turf area to give the Hawkeyes a training area during inclement weather. The only other Iowa athletic team that uses the turf area is the field hockey team. This allows for flexibility in scheduling time on the turf in the off-season for both individual and team workouts.

The team room and locker room both have large plasma screen televisions which allow the team to watch videotape of their play as well as that of opponents.

Iowa Turf is located on the west side of campus and is attached to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. The Iowa Turf facility is 100 yards in length and includes drop down batting cages for the baseball and softball teams to train in the winter months.

Select camps may be held inside the Indoor Practice Facility, which serves as the indoor practice space for the Iowa Football program.
